About HMIN

The Home Modification Information Network (HMIN) is provided to you as a service of the Fall Prevention Center of Excellence at the University of Southern California Leonard Davis School of Gerontology.

With support from various private and government grants, including from the Administration for Community Living, HMIN is the culmination of decades of our research, training, and education efforts on supportive home environments for older adults, people with disabilities, and individuals of all ages!

Home modification resources in three easy steps!

Most people want to live independently in their homes and communities. Unfortunately, many homes lack features that help them live safely, comfortably, and independently. Home modification involves changing or adapting the home environment to make tasks easier, prevent accidents, and support independent living.

We aim to meet the needs and concerns of individuals seeking home modifications by providing curated information that is not tied to any constituency group or to any personal interest or benefit from any of these agencies or services.

The Home Modification Information Network is a free service that helps people make informed choices about changes to the home that improve safety, comfort, and convenience. It connects consumers and professionals with national, state, and local home modification resources in three easy steps!
